CCSD Students Excel at Regional and State Career Skills Competitions

Cherokee County School District students have earned top honors this fall at statewide and regional career competitions!

Through Career and Technical Student Organizations, students expand their classroom Career Pathway program learning by participating in after-school and weekend activities like conferences, competitions and community service.  Congratulations to our students and their teachers, and thank you to our School Board for its laser focus on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!

AGC Skills Challenge and SkillsUSA
Cherokee High School students in the Career Pathway programs for construction and welding succeeded at this skilled professions regional competition, with top medalists advancing to the state contest!

DECA State Leadership Development Conference
Sequoyah High School students in the Career Pathway program for Marketing and Management placed at the DECA student marketing, management and entrepreneurship association’s regional competition.

Abagail Hude and Sebastian Murillo; and Ashley Mitchell and Valentina Murillo – Top 10, Team Decision Making Marketing Role Play 
Sebastian Murillo – Seventh place, Hospitality and Tourism Testing Event

The officer team also presented a successful chapter workshop on “Etiquette 101: Impress, Connect, and Succeed!”  Their teacher is Chana Miller.

Etowah and River Ridge High School students in Career Pathway programs for Healthcare Science earned honors at this regional HOSA Future Health Professionals student organization competition!

Carson Hahn, Isabelle Harris and Marlee Peppers placed third in the Knowledge Bowl competition.  Their teacher is Erin Heinzer.

WHS and WMS Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Orienteering team

Woodstock High School students in the Career Pathway program for NJROTC Government and Public Administration and Woodstock Middle School students who competed with them succeeded at this regional event!
