Woodstock High School Principal Charley Ingham

Why did you choose to become a Principal?
Being a teacher was one of the greatest decisions I ever made.  Every year, I was able to work with 100 to 150 amazing young people.  So, I asked myself, “What it would be like to expand that and develop a place where students and staff could grow into the best versions of themselves, not just in a classroom but in the community as well?”  That is what being a principal has allowed me to do, and I am grateful every single day to be a part of the Woodstock community!

What inspires you in your work as a Principal?
It’s a simple answer to this one.  I’m constantly inspired by the way students always defy the odds.  I’ve learned over and over from our kids that you cannot predict another person’s future.  Every day, our people wake up and do the best they can, and even with massive obstacles in their way, they produce amazing results.  There is no limit to what they can do when they chart the path before them and relentlessly pursue it!

How are you Elevating the Excellence in your school?
Woodstock High School elevates the excellence every day by working collaboratively with our students, staff, families, and community to unleash the potential of our young people.  Sometimes, students don’t know how great they can be until you believe in them and give them opportunities to shine.  Our people are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to do just that, and it is exactly what we have happening throughout our school and community.
