Indian Knoll Elementary School Principal Kim Cerasoli
Why did you choose to become a Principal?
I have been inspired and mentored by many Principals as I moved into administration. Most notably, Dr. Bill Scott at Chalker Elementary School provided me a great example on how important it is to connect to all stakeholders and specifically the students in the building. I make it a priority to be on the morning news every day, visible throughout the day and at buses at the end of the day. Being engaged and present is very important to me!
What inspires you in your work as a Principal?
As a building leader, I feel a strong responsibility for the staff at Indian Knoll Elementary School. I am inspired by the educators that work at the school. Over the years, I have mentored and coached teachers, and it inspires me to see them promoted into leadership roles.
How are you Elevating the Excellence in your school?
This year, IKES attained the distinction of being a fifth-year Microsoft Showcase School. IKES is the only school in Georgia to have achieved this honor. We prioritize technology integration with student and staff Microsoft training and implementation. At the moment, we have 12 staff Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts.
